Dozens of participants attended the Trendlines Agtech “open day” (open house), Entrepreneurship, Technology and Agriculture, on November 24. The participants were mainly from the local Gush Etzion, Kiryat Arba, and Hebron areas, with some as far afield as the North and Sderot.
The aim of the meeting was to expose the activities of the technology incubator — namely to provide professional and financial support for entrepreneurs and start-up projects in the fields of agricultural and food technologies — to people living in the surrounding areas as well as those from other areas.
Oded Revivi, Head of the Municipal Council of Efrat, Malachi Levinger, Head of the Municipal Council of Kiryat Arba, and Davidi Perl, Head of the Gush Etzion Regional Council, were among the guests. All three emphasized the great importance of encouraging and supporting entrepreneurship in technology development as a means of strengthening the prosperity of the region.
In the overview of Trendlines Agtech’s objectives, attendees learned how a technology incubator functions and the advantages it offers entrepreneurs. The CEOs of start-ups currently operating in the incubator presented their companies’ unique technologies to the participants.
Nitza Kardish, CEO of Trendlines Agtech, commented, “Based on the questions of the participants and the ensuing discussion, it is clear there is great entrepreneurial potential in the area. We hope to see fruitful collaborations thrive as a result of this day. As a result of the meeting, entrepreneurs have already contacted us and expressed interest in joining us, and investors have expressed great interest in a number of our portfolio companies.”
