Sol Chip, an Israeli company, has developed a revolutionary solar battery, announced the completion of the first part of a $5 million financing round. The round was led by Dowell Property Holdings Limited of Hong Kong. The raise will help the company expand its operations, including recruiting additional systems engineers and experts in communications and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The Self-Charging Battery
Sol Chip is part of the Trendlines Agtech technology incubator, has successfully developed — by combining solar cell technology on a chip — special batteries and integrated processor that uses solar energy. This technology could be integrated into any mobile device and replace existing batteries where clean, renewable energy. The technology enables users to extend the battery life of low-power applications, reduce costs, reduce environmental pollution, and increase the reliability of solar batteries.
