Sol Chip CEO Shani Keysar Named an ACE Award Finalist

Congratulations to Shani Keysar, Ph.D., CEO of award-winning portfolio company Sol Chip.

Shani has been named an ACE Award finalist in the Innovator of the Year category.

The ACE Awards “showcase the best of the best in today’s electronics industry, including the hottest new products, start-up companies, design teams, executives and more.” Presented by EE Times and EDN, the awards “celebrate the promise of new talent and innovation.” The winners will be announced at the 2014 ACE Awards ceremony on April 1, 2014, in San Jose, California. See the entire list of 2014 ACE Award finalists.

Sol Chip is developing a maintenance-free, everlasting solar battery. The miniature battery, which is about the size of a quarter, provides energy for the lifetime of low-power devices. The Sol Chip battery reduces environmental hazards, reduces costs, and increases overall efficiency and reliability. Sol Chip recently announced a collaboration agreement with Tadiran Batteries.

As a finalist for the ACE Award, Sol Chip continues on its award-winning path. In 2013, the company won Best Technical Development of Energy Harvesting at IDTech Ex, and in 2012 it was named Start-Up of the Year by Israel’s Ministry of Economy.
