VP Agricultural Technologies, Trendlines Agtech Ophir Kiraly

Raised on a kibbutz (an agricultural community) in northern Israel, Ophir Kiraly’s career brings together a unique combination: agriculture and defense.

Prior to joining Trendlines, Ophir was Chief Agronomist & Head Data Officer at Farm Dog Technologies, a seed-stage precision ag company.

He served as the Head of Landscaping and Parks Department in Arad, a city located in Israel’s challenging Negev Desert, and in Yokne’am Illit, a city in northern Israel. Previously, Ophir supervised the landscaping construction works for Israel’s Highway 6, the country’s first major national infrastructure project to prioritize landscape recovery.

Ophir served for more than two decades as a career officer in the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) Intelligence Corps, serving in an elite Technology Intelligence Unit. He was a commander of sub-units focused on counterterrorism, where he was responsible for the development of new concepts and methodologies for data mining and analysis.

After retiring from the army, Ophir was a high school biology teacher.

Ophir received an M.Sc.Agr. and B.Sc.Agr. (cum laude) in horticulture at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an M.A. in political science from Haifa University. He is a graduate of the Israel National Defense College and received a teaching certificate in biology at Oranim Academic College of Education.
