The Israel-Ireland Agtech Connection
I had the wonderful opportunity to participate as a panelist at the recent Agtech Nexus 2017 Conference, the first conference on agtech in Dublin, Ireland, which took place on 8 December 2017.
Agtech Nexus was a one-day intensive look at agricultural technologies being developed and deployed in Europe and around the world, covering timely issues such as navigating intellectual property issues, animal health, nutrition, breaking into the European market, and delivering agtech to emerging markets. One of the hot topics was how robotics bring innovation to the livestock sector.
My contribution was to debate the future of the agtech accelerator model in the panel session, Is the Agtech Accelerator Model Broken?
The conference, which was highly focused on Ireland’s ability to serve as a bridge to the entire European market (including Israel), was very informative and gave all attendees much food for thought.
Keep your eyes on Ireland. Like Israel, a small country making its mark on international innovation and investments in agtech. Israel is in third place after the United States and Europe (as a whole), and Ireland is following in Israel’s footsteps.
Supporting our cooperation and mutual respect, the Agtech Nexus organizers warmly invited all Dublin participants to come to AgriVest in Israel on 8 May 2018. I happily extend that invitation too!
